God Loves You
The Bible says “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life.” God loves you more that you could ever know. And he loves you despite your faults and failures.
All Men are Sinners
The Bible says “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” You see everyone in this world has done something that has gone against God’s perfect law, and because of that sin it makes us sinners.
Sin Has a Payment that Christ Paid
The Bible says “the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Even though we were sinners God still sent His perfect Son to this earth to bleed and die on a cross, be buried, and rise again so that we could one day have a home in heaven.
Call Out to Christ
The Bible says “Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” There is no alternative. If you do not know Christ then you are on your way to hell; However if you call out to God and ask Him to forgive you and trust in Jesus Christ then you can be saved today.
We believe the Scriptures, both the Old and New Testaments to be the inspired Word of God, without error, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men, and the divine and final authority for all Christian faith and life. (II Timothy 3:14-16)
We believe in one God, creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19)
Deity of Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is true God and true man, having been conceived of the Holy Ghost and born of the Virgin Mary. He died on the cross, a sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. Further, He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into Heaven where, at the right hand of the Majesty on High, He now is our High Priest and Advocate. (John 1; Matthew 1)
We believe that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, and during this age to convict men, regenerate the believing sinner, and indwell, guide, instruct, and empower the believer for Godly living and service.
The Holy Spirit
We believe that Adam and Eve were the first humans on earth, created by and in the image of God. Through their disobedience, sin entered the human race, bringing death and eternal separation from God. In His mercy, God provided a way back to Himself. (See Section 6, Genesis 1:27, 2:17, 3:1-19, John 3:16)
In light of God’s design, we believe that the Bible teaches that marriage is the joining of one naturally born man and one naturally born woman, and that sexual intimacy is to be expressed only within the bonds of a Biblically defined marriage. Any other form of marriage or sexual intimacy is immoral and a perversion of God’s gracious will. (See Gen. 2:18, 22, 25; Matt. 19:4-6; Cor. 6: 19-20; 7:1-5; Eph. 5:22-23; Heb. 13:4)
We believe that the shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provided the only ground for justification and salvation for all who believe, and only such as receive Jesus Christ are born of the Holy Spirit, and thus become Children of God, eternally secure in Christ. (John 10:28, Ephesians 2:8, 9)
We believe that water baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper are ordinances to be observed by the Church during this present age; they are however, not to be regarded as means of salvation. (Matthew 28:18-20, I Corinthians 11:23-29)
We believe that the true Church is composed of all such persons, who through saving faith in Jesus Christ, have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and are united together in the Body of Christ of which He is the head. (I Corinthians 12:12-28, 6:14, 20, Romans 8:9)
We believe that only those who are thus members of the true Church shall be eligible for membership in the local church.
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Lord and the head of the Church and that every local church has the right under Christ, to decide and govern its own affairs.
We believe in the imminent return of Christ in the air to bodily take all believers to Heaven. A period of at least seven (7) years will follow in which Israel will be brought back to God, a period of great tribulation (Daniel’s seventieth (70th) week). Christ will then return with the saints to rule for one thousand (1,000) years after defeating the armies of the Anti-Christ. After this, the unsaved of all ages will be raised bodily and will be judged and cast into the lake of fire for eternity. (I Thessalonians 4:12-18, I Corinthians 15:51-57, Daniel 9:27, Matthew 24:15, 21, 27, Revelation 19:11, 20:10-15)
We believe that Satan is a created being, the author of the fall, and that he shall be eternally punished, (Job 1:7, Genesis 3:1-10, Revelation 20:10)
Having been led, as we believe, by the Spirit of God to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior, and on the profession of faith in Christ, having been baptized in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, we do now in the presence of God, Angels and this assembly most solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with one another, as one body in Christ.
We endeavor, therefore, by the aid of the Holy Spirit, to study the Bible and walk together in Christian love; to strive for the advancement of this church, in love, knowledge, holiness and comfort to all; to promote its prosperity and spirituality; to sustain its worship, ordinance, disciplines and doctrines; to give it a sacred preeminence over all institutions of human origin; to contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of the ministry, the expenses of the church, their relief to the poor and spread the Gospel to all nations.
We endeavor to maintain family and personal devotions, to educate our children concerning the Lord and His Word, to seek the salvation of our kindred and acquaintances; to be obedient to the scriptural admonition in I Corinthians 6:12 “All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any”, which clearly teaches that believers are not to be controlled by any substance or sinful practice, to walk circumspectly in the world and to be just in our dealing with all men, faithful in our engagements, and exemplary in our deportment; to be zealous in our efforts to advance the Kingdom of our Savior.
We further endeavor to watch over one another in brotherly love, to remember each other in prayer, and to aid each other in sickness and distress; to cultivate Christian sympathy and Christian courtesy in speech, to be slow to take offense, but always ready for reconciliation, and to secure it without delay. Moreover, when we remove from this place, we will as soon as possible unite with some other church of like faith and practice where we can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God’s Word.
